Serving The Lord
Graduated with a second class honours degree in Civil Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 1994. However, instead of practicing as an engineer, I went to serve in a not-for-profit organisation called Singapore Campus Crusade for Christ (now known as Cru Singapore) because of my passion to create a positive influence among the youth.
Throughout my sixteen years with SCCC (1994 to 2010), I served in several capacities such as team leader, prayer coordinator, and HR Manager, overseeing staff development. Because of my great love for God and His people, I pursued a double Masters, a Masters of Arts in Pastoral Counselling and a Masters of Divinity with East Asia School of Theology, where I was awarded the Best Academic Award.

I was first exposed to Jesus when I was a student at the Chung Cheng High branch on Guillemard Road. I could still remember two of my classmates invited a few of us to their church's Christmas event. It was then that I prayed and received Jesus into my life. However, I did not attend church regularly. Subsequently, I prayed and received Jesus again at the Luis Palau rally at the National Stadium. From that day onward, I have been attending a small family church near my place faithfully.
I discovered that I had retinal detachment when I was eighteen years old. It was during the pre-National Service medical check-up that I was horrified to find I could see nothing when the medics covered my left eye. I knew that I was in deep trouble.
Almost immediately, I went to see an eye surgeon, and he proposed that I needed emergency eye surgery. This happened two weeks before my A-level exam.
My Greatest Trial as a Parent
In 2006, my third child, Ariel, who was a 70-day-old baby, was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a medical condition where the liver is failing, and she needed a new liver as soon as possible. My whole family had a tough time as we did not know if God would be taking her away already. However, God did provide a liver for her in the end, which became the greatest miracle I had encountered with God.
After experiencing such a great miracle from God and learning so many precious lessons about who God is, I felt that this was a message I could not keep to myself. The Bible exhorts believers to declare the glory of God and His wonderful works to all nations and throughout all generations forever. I would do God a great disservice by keeping this message to myself. Thus, at His perfect timing and provision, I decided to publish His story in Ariel's life.

New Beginning as a Visually Challenged

When I become visually challenged, honestly speaking I did not know what kind of job was available for me. Until one day in 2022 my wife suggested to me, "Why don't you contact the Singapore Association for Visually Handicapped (SAVH) to request for her assistance?"
I did what she told me and the social worker from SAVH recommended me to learn massage therapy. After thinking about it I found that it made sense for the visually challenged to become massage therapists as we could touch and feel better than sighted. Mind you it was very challenging to learn a new trade at the age of 51. My training reached a pivotal moment that my fingers became so painful even with a gentle pressing. It was either I gave up to becoming a massage therapist or I persevered with my metamorphosis. I prayed and asked God for His guidance and wisdom and He empowered me to move forward. I was glad that I made the right decision and now I am an accomplished massage therapist with many positive feedback from my customers. All glory to Jesus.
